Dangers Hiding Behind Lead Paint
Lead poisoning, buying a house with lead paint, lead paint removal
Lead poisoning is a fearful event developing from the environment. Researches
have proved that the use of lead paint is too dangerous to human beings.
It can damage the health of individuals both mentally and physically.
The poisonous constituent present in the lead paint is capable to damage
the body organ systems. When the blood of an individual gets contaminated
by lead poison it develops the faulty functioning of especially nervous
system, brain and kidney. The presence of lead in the blood can be determined
by the process of blood analysis. Because of this dangerous nature of
lead in paint it has been strictly advised not use lead either in paint
or any other homely substances.
Commonly the metallic and plastic toys meant for children are covered
with lead paints. When these toys and substances covered with lead paint
are fallen or broken the lead paint will get dispersed into the surrounding
dust and dirt. Thus the inhabitants unknowingly get absorbed these poisons
into the blood stream. Children are the main victims of this poisoning,
since they use to play under dust and dirt prevailing conditions. In children
the lead poisoning commonly develops retarded growth, learning disability,
behavior disorders and poor hearing. In adults the lead poisoning occurs
by the tremendous exposure to the lead contaminated environment. This
naturally happens to people working in lead paint manufacturing units.
The lead poisoning develops high blood pressure in adults in addition
to the above mentioned problems.
The lead content which enters in to the blood stream of children can be
reduced by providing them well balanced nutritious food. Growing children
always need high amount of calcium and iron together with little fat.
Meat, green vegetables, soybeans and fresh dairy products are capable
to reduce the lead content in the body of children. The lead absorption
in children cannot be prevented since their playing medium is dust and
dirt. But we can minimize the outcome of lead poisoning by providing them
food containing vitamins and minerals. This is considered as the best
preventive measure against lead poisoning. Old houses are the other sources
of lead poisoning. The inhabitants of old houses are generally get affected
by lead poisoning, because the paint used in old houses would have lead
content. Hence there are high possibilities for children living in old
houses get contaminated by lead poison and their blood must be analyzed
to find out the presence of lead content.
If the poison is absorbed or ingested in to the body, its outcome will
not be developed instantly. It will take long time for the symptoms to
be exposed fully. Since the action of this poison is over the internal
organs it will be difficult to correct the faults after the organs have
damaged very badly. Since prevention is better than cure, it is better
to eradicate the poison from the body by adopting suitable alternatives.
Since lead paint is really a threat to the health and wellbeing of the
people all over the world measures should be taken very seriously to keep
away this poisonous lead content from the environment of humankinds.
